Hi everyone, It's NAIDOC Week! |

|
Age inclusion – put our eye-opening insights into action |
|
|
|
Last week, we launched an impactful report on age inclusion in partnership with the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC). The report, Age, Assumptions and Access at Work: Employee Experiences of Age Inclusion in the Workplace, explores one of the forgotten areas of D&I, but it demonstrates clearly why age inclusion matters – and what workplaces can do about it. |
-
Team members can use the insights to reflect on personal assumptions and their team’s norms and everyday behaviours.
- HR and D&I practitioners can review recruitment, development, flexibility and complaint processes, and strengthen D&I policies and strategies.
- We also encourage leaders to be age inclusion champions, and make age a focus of culture, career development and flexibility strategies.

Breaking down barriers to leadership for culturally and racially marginalised (CARM) women |
Realise. Inspire. Support. Energise. (RISE) was a first-of-its-kind partnership between DCA, Settlement Services International and Chief Executive Women. From 2022 to 2026, the project worked with CARM women from 25 organisations to diagnose and address key systemic barriers preventing them from reaching senior leadership.
The RISE Project Insights Report captures what was implemented and what is beginning to shift for those who participated, with a focus on what really worked for both CARM women and the organisations. It also highlights the unexpected challenges and tensions encountered throughout the project, offering a realistic account of organisational change and what it takes to create sustainable progress. Be among the first to explore the findings. |

“At Genea, we help build families in all their modern diversity, so inclusion isn't an aspiration for us, it's the nature of the work. Being recognised by DCA as an Inclusive Employer for two years running tells us our people experience the same belonging we strive to create for every patient who walks through our doors. The Index gives us honest data, and our teams give us honest feedback - both keep us improving.” |
