Your fortnightly newsletter from DCA. Together towards inclusion. |

| Hi everyone,
Before you enjoy the rest of this edition of Inclusion Matters, I wanted to address the divisive rhetoric about multiculturalism that has been highlighted in the news recently. DCA rejects the divisive comments and calls for our nation’s leaders to show respect, humanity and understanding, and for all Australians to stand together and recognise the opportunity in celebrating the rich diversity of our community. I encourage you to check out our guidance on supporting inclusion during difficult times.

If you want to deepen your learning, we have a panel of expert speakers who can be booked through DCA for both members and non-members (a fee applies).
For our members with operations in Victoria, you may also be absorbing the news around legislation that is enshrining the right to work from home. If you are looking for support, you can access our flexible work resources here.

AI – friend or foe in recruitment? |
With this said, it has been another busy fortnight in our sector, and leading the charge has been the commentary surrounding AI and its transformational impact in the workplace, especially in recruitment.
We know that bias in AI is real and it can show up in ways that aren't always obvious. This is why we are calling on a human rights-first approach to AI in recruitment and asking organisations to take the Inclusive AI Pledge. You can watch me talk about some of the benefits and pitfalls on our LinkedIn page.

Embed intersectionality in your D&I strategy with our latest Knowledge Program |
Our new knowledge program, Intersectionality Fundamentals, shows how overlapping social and professional identities — and the systems that shape them — influence workplace experiences, barriers, and outcomes. By understanding these dynamics, you can be aware of blind spots, reduce unintended inequities, and lead with greater clarity. Most importantly, you will learn how to apply an intersectional lens to policies, practices, and everyday decisions.
