Canva Pride Collective gives its people even more to celebrate |
Are you looking for more ways to uplift and empower your LGBTQ+ workers? Take a look at how our member Canva runs its Employee Research Group (ERG), the Canva Pride Collective. |
Canva's approach shows what is possible when an ERG is properly resourced and embedded in a workplace. Our research shows a whopping 39 percent of LGBTIQ+ workers reported being sometimes, often or always left out of work-based social gatherings, compared with 29 percent of non-LGBTIQ+ workers. |
| |
So, coinciding with Pride Month this June, we are highlighting the Canva experience to encourage you to re-examine the role of not just your LGBTQ+ ERG, but all your ERGs so they better meet the needs of the people they represent. |

"As a D&I practitioner, supporting Pride ERGs and helping build the frameworks around them has been a meaningful part of my work. I’ve been able to shape spaces that encourage connection, shared experiences, and inclusion, while also seeing firsthand the impact they have on people. Watching others feel more confident, supported, and able to show up as themselves has been incredibly rewarding. As a gay man, that’s landed in a personal way too - it reinforces the importance of visibility and belonging, and reminds me how powerful it is to create environments where people feel psychologically safe and genuinely included."

Case study: Getting ahead at BHP – how women now represent 40% of its workforce
Earlier this year, BHP became the first global, listed mining company to achieve gender balance across its employee workforce and reach its aspirational 40 percent female representation target ahead of schedule. |
Our latest case study examines how BHP achieved this major milestone, and how it marks a new chapter for BHP with gender balance now recognised as a competitive advantage. Learn how BHP navigated a constrained talent market to meet this goal and how different perspectives are shaping its activities.
Join us to delve deeper in next week's Case Study Conversation - Tuesday 15 June, online at 12:30pm AEST. |
