Celebrating our collective successes in Diversity and Inclusion |
As the year draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a year of meaningful progress and share some of our great plans for the coming year.
2025 marked a pivotal year for DCA, positioning us for even greater impact. Early this year we welcomed Catherine Hunter (she/her) as DCA’s new CEO, and in June we launched our bold new brand identity. Throughout the year there were many valuable moments of connection and shared learning, including over 200 education programs and 36 events. In 2026, DCA will explore even more ways to bring our community together. We’ve also been working on advancing an exciting new strategic plan for DCA and look forward to sharing more about our priorities and direction in the new year.

18 December is International Migrants Day |
We emphasise the enormous positive impact migrants have on Australia’s economy, communities, and workplaces. At a time when we are seeing an increase in harmful and divisive views towards migrant and culturally and racially marginalised (CARM) communities, workplaces have a vital role to play. Safe, respectful, and inclusive work environments can help counter misinformation, build connection, and ensure everyone can contribute their best. |

Early finding from our 2025-2025 Inclusion@Work Index on workers with disability |
| “These findings make it clear that many workers with disability across Australia are still working in environments that undermine their safety, wellbeing, and ability to contribute fully.” |
- Catherine Hunter, CEO, Diversity Council Australia |
While challenges persist, there are clear steps organisations can take to improve inclusion for workers with disability. Our Disability Data at Work report, delivered in partnership with Australian Disability Network (AusDN), explored how organisations can make a meaningful difference by using workplace disability data to guide action

AusDN submission on the Disability Discrimination Act |
The Australian Government is reviewing the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 to ensure that it is working to protect people with disability. AusDN provided a submission informed by insights provided by employers from their network and employees with disability. The submission outlines key consultation findings and recommendations. |

Reflections from DCA Founding Member ANZ |
40 years ago, some of Australia’s top business leaders came together to form the Council for Equal Opportunity in Employment — a bold, self-driven initiative to advance equal opportunity in the workplace. That council became DCA. Over the past couple of months, we have been collecting insights from these founding members. Our latest insights come from ANZ CEO, Nuno Matos (he/him). | |
"The value of joining DCA is the ability to access independent thought leadership on diversity and inclusion in the workplace. ANZ has frequently accessed DCA’s leading research, events and expert advice across all diversity dimensions. Being able to provide this fantastic best-practice information to all our employees is a very worthwhile aspect of our membership. As diversity and inclusion is a constantly evolving area we recognise the importance of partnerships and being able to learn from others."
