How workplaces can support the many faces of ADHD |
|
|
This year’s ADHD Awareness Month theme, The Many Faces of ADHD, reflects the incredible diversity of people who live with this form of neurodivergence. In Australia, that’s estimated to be 1 in 20 people – around 1.4 million individuals, each with unique perspectives, skills, and experiences to share with our workplaces and communities.
Our latest blog explores a personal experiences of living with ADHD – especially during a time when ADHD, Autism, and neurodivergence understanding and progress is under threat. At DCA, we encourage employers to take proactive steps to create environments where neurodivergent people feel safe, supported, and accepted. Sharing your neurodivergence should never be mandatory, but inclusive practices must be embedded so that anyone who needs adjustments can access them without fear of stigma.
As we mark ADHD Awareness Month, the hope is that we can move away from deficit-based narratives and instead celebrate the many faces of ADHD, and all neurodivergent people. |

Reflections for World Childless Week |
In a society where having children is often assumed to be the “default path,” people who are childless not by choice may experience exclusion, misunderstanding, and bias. At work, this can show up in assumptions about flexibility, caring responsibilities, or even who is considered to have a “family.” Challenging these assumptions and recognising different life paths is key to building truly inclusive workplaces.
Last week during World Childless Week, Liz Campbell (she/her) reflected on how the week has been a great source of comfort and inspiration for the Childless Not By Choice (CNBC) community. |

Share your D&I progress through Inclusion at Work Week 2025 |
|
|
DCA’s Inclusion at Work Week (IAWW) takes place from 17-21 November 2025. IAWW is an annual, week-long national celebration of diversity and inclusion in Australian workplaces where we invite DCA member and non-member organisations to participate and share their diversity and inclusion (D&I) journeys and progress.
This year DCA marks its 40th anniversary and IAWW will focus on the progress we’ve made and how much further we can go. As part of this year’s celebrations, we’re encouraging organisations to share their D&I progress and achievements and what’s next on their D&I journey. |
