Minus18 survey: Queer Youth Now |
Minus18, Australia’s largest charity for LGBTQIA+ youth, recently conducted a national survey, Queer Youth Now, to gain a deeper understanding of the lives and experiences of young LGBTQIA+ people in Australia. The survey shed light on young people’s experiences of connection and pride, but also the heavy reality of challenges that exist each day, and the sobering fact that LGBTQIA+ hate is an ongoing reality for queer young people.
Organisations that take steps to be visible, proactive, and open to learning can help create spaces where young LGBTQIA+ employees feel safer. A massive 72% of Queer Youth Now participants simply wish their colleagues knew more about their identities to help them feel accepted.
In our latest blog, Charlie Farmer (she/they), LGBTQIA+ Education Presenter at Minus18, discusses steps workplaces can take to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ young employees. |

Supporting early-career talent with Motorola Solutions’ Young Professionals Group
As a proud DCA member, Motorola Solutions Australia is putting inclusion into action. Keeping early-career talent engaged and supported is a clear priority, especially when it comes to recent grads and Gen Y and Z employees, who now make up 30% of the workforce. To support this goal, Motorola Solutions launched the Young Professional Group — a thriving initiative that helps younger employees and graduates connect, expand their professional networks, and re-engage with the workplace. |
| |
Focused on four key areas — professional development, knowledge sharing, community involvement, and networking — the group has become a powerful platform for emerging talent to contribute to a more connected and inclusive workforce. Our latest case study showcases how Motorola Solutions is empowering early-career employees to play an active role in building inclusive workplaces while fostering a more connected and capable workforce. |

On 4 July, we had the honour of marking Diversity Council Australia’s 40th anniversary at Admiralty House with our Patron, Her Excellency the Honourable Governor-General, Ms Sam Mostyn AC.
