2025 National NAIDOC Award winners announced |
The winners of the 2025 National NAIDOC Awards have been announced, celebrating the outstanding contributions and excellence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Held last Saturday July 5th in Perth, this national event celebrates impact across ten categories, including art, culture, education and training, sport, environment and leadership. As part of NAIDOC Week 2025, the awards honour the contributions of individuals, groups, businesses and organisations, and acknowledge how their work positively impacts communities, people, and the nation.
The ceremony also serves as a powerful reminder of the oldest surviving culture in the world and the ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Find out more and explore the full list of 2025 recipients.
The official artwork, Ancestral Lines, is by Ngarbal/Gomeroi artist Jeremy Morgan Worrall. |

This week (6-13 July 2025) we celebrate NAIDOC Week. The 2025 theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”, celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of young leaders, the vision of communities, and the legacy of ancestors.
Please visit the NAIDOC website for resources, events, and more information. |

Reconciliation Australia has released the results of the 2024 Australian Reconciliation Barometer (ARB)
The ARB is the only national study, undertaken every two years, tracking attitudes and perceptions about reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.
This year’s results show strong public support for reconciliation, with 85% of Australians agreeing that the relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians is important. However, the data also reveals ongoing challenges, including a rise in racial discrimination reported by First Nations peoples and persistent gaps in understanding across communities. |

DCA 2024 Annual Report: A Year of Impact and Growth
We are pleased to release our 2024 Annual Report, highlighting a year of impact and momentum in advancing diversity and inclusion (D&I) across Australian workplaces.
With over 1,300 member organisations, DCA’s community is stronger than ever. In 2024, we delivered six major research reports, 34 events attracting over 20,000 registrations, 11 submissions to policy and legislative reviews, and 222 education programs and speaking engagements. Participation in our Inclusive Employer Index grew by 80%, and engagement in our Inclusion at Work Week tripled among non-member organisations. Other 2024 highlights included welcoming Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC as DCA Patron and our contribution at the United Nation’s sixty-eighth session of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York.
This report shows the value of DCA membership in action — with evidence-based tools, practical support, and a powerful platform for collective change. |

Gain inclusion insights that align with WGEA standards
DCA’s Inclusive Employer Index allows employers to gain a detailed profile of employees’ diversity and experiences of inclusion and exclusion, benchmarked against the Australian workforce and DCA member organisations. Participants that meet or exceed the national benchmark will be profiled as DCA’s 2025-2026 Inclusive Employers. |
| |
There are five employee experience questions required for WGEA’s Employer of Choice for Gender Equality Citation, all of which are included in DCA’s Inclusive Employer Index. To facilitate reporting, a separate data export is available to participants with gender disaggregated responses and total response rate.
The survey is now available to participants, and registrations are still open. Once registered, you can send the survey to your employees at any point between 1 July and 30 September, with results available in real time on our user-friendly dashboard. |

WGEA releases new calculator in advance of Equal Pay Day
Equal Pay Day falls on 19 August 2025. Equal Pay Day is part of an international movement that calls attention to inequalities in our workplaces. The day represents the 50 days after the end of the financial year that women, on average, must work to earn the same that men earned in the financial year just past.
To spark a conversation about action, WGEA has created an Equal Pay Day Calculator where employees can enter their employer’s gender pay gap and find out their workplace’s Equal Pay Day. |

The Guideline: LGBTIQA+ inclusive workplaces now available
The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission's Guideline: LGBTIQA+ Inclusive Workplaces is an essential tool with practical information about LGBTIQA+ employees’ rights at work under the Equal Opportunity Act.
The guideline provides five minimum standards that employers should meet to create inclusive workplaces and comply with their legal duty to prevent, not just respond to, discrimination against LGBTIQA+ employees. It also comes with fact sheets to help employees understand how they are protected at work from discrimination. |
